Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid is an ethylenediamine derivative, a tetracarboxylic acid and a polyamino carboxylic acid. It has a role as a copper chelator, a geroprotector, a calcium chelator, an antidote and an anticoagulant. It is a conjugate acid of an EDTA(2-).
